Snow may be heavy at times late tonight through Thursday morning...before tapering off late Thursday afternoon and into Thursday evening. * Impacts...hazardous travel conditions due to reduced visibilities...icy roads and significant snow accumulations. * Visibilities...one quarter to one half mile at times. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. NCPD Crime Alert: Suspect Wanted for Hicksville Purse Snatching

The Second Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, August 02, 2014 at 4:09 AM in Hicksville.

Hicksville, NY - August 2nd, 2014 - The Second Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, August 02, 2014 at 4:09 AM in Hicksville.
 
According to detectives, a 55 year old female victim was walking northbound on Newbridge Road when an unknown male white (no further description) starting walking behind her.  The subject then pushed the victim to the ground and took her handbag containing an undetermined amount of US currency and personal papers.  The subject fled the scene on foot southbound toward the Hicksville parking garage.  The victim refused  further medical attention at the scene.
 
Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
