The Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled. * Locations...Fairfield County and New Haven County in southwest Connecticut and western Suffolk County in southeast New York. * Hazard types...periods of snow and blowing snow. * Accumulations...additional snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. * Winds...northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * Visibilities...1 mile or less at times. * Temperatures...around 20. * Timing...this evening. * Impacts...hazardous travel continues. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Suffolk County Police To Hold Property Auction

Auction to be held on the morning of June 11 in Yaphank.

Yaphank, NY - June 9, 2014 - The Suffolk County Police Department Property Section will hold a property auction on June 11 at 8:30 a.m. at the Property Section building, located next to Police Headquarters, 30 Yaphank Ave. in Yaphank.
 
Among the items being auctioned are hand and power tools, automotive items, household items, clothing, footwear, video games, electronics, bicycles and jewelry. Motor vehicles and motorcycles will not be sold at this auction.
 
The event will be held rain or shine and all items will be sold in “as is” condition. All purchases are subject to New York State sales tax and payments must be made in cash.
