This will result in brief inundation of these most vulnerable shore roads and adjacent properties. , "Wind Advisory" ...Wind Advisory now in effect until 6 am EDT early this morning... * locations...coastal Connecticut from New Haven east...and all of Suffolk County Long Island. * Hazards...strong winds. * Winds...north 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * Timing...until 6 am. * Impacts...strong northerly winds may down power lines and a few trees...and make driving difficult on elevated roadways and bridges. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph... or gusts of 46 to 57 mph...are expected or occurring. NCPD Crime Alert: Man Wanted for Robbing Merrick Chase Bank

Robbery Squad detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Merrick on Tuesday, 06/09/14 at 10:20 A.M.

Merrick, NY - June 9th, 2014 - Robbery Squad detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Merrick on Tuesday, 06/09/14 at 10:20 A.M.
 
According to detectives, a male subject entered Chase Bank located at 2122 Merrick Ave., approached the teller and handed her a note demanding cash.  The subject threatened the use of a gun in the demand note, but none was displayed.  The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the subject fled on food in an unknown direction.  There were seven employees and one customer in the bank at the time of the robbery.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
The subject is described as a male black, 5’11” tall, dark complexion, medium build, wearing a black long haired wig, baseball cap with a star, and a maroon hooded sweatshirt.
 
Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
