There is the potential for periods of heavy rainfall this evening into Friday afternoon. * The axis of heaviest rain remains uncertain. this time the heaviest rain is forecast to extend from northeastern New Jersey into the lower Hudson Valley...New York City...and southern Connecticut. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible...with localized higher amounts possible. The main threat is flash flooding of low lying...poor drainage...and urbanized areas. Elmont Woman Busted for Selling Heroin, Crack

Elmont, NY - May 24th, 2014 - The Narcotics/Vice Bureau reports an arrest for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:24 A.M. in Elmont.
According to detectives, Maria A. Garcia, 55, of 1361 Star Avenue, Elmont sold heroin on several separate occasions in the Elmont area.  She was placed under arrest on Meacham Avenue and News Street without incident.  A search warrant was executed at her home which uncovered undisclosed amounts of heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine and pills along with over $1200.00 in cash and drug paraphernalia. 
Garcia is charged with seven counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance and seven counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree.  She will be charged at a later date with the evidence recovered during the execution of the search warrant.  She will be arraigned on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
