Hempstead Man Arrested as Fugitive After Evading Authorities on Kidnapping & Rape Charges

Hempstead, NY - April 30th, 2015 - The Fugitive Squad reports the arrest of a male who was a Fugitive from Justice on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 8:15 am in Hempstead.

According to detectives, after a joint investigation with the United States Marshals Service officers’ responded to the home of defendant Jorge Alberto Correa-Berrios, 35, of Wellesley Street, Hempstead for his apprehension and arrest.

The defendant has an open warrant from Prince William County Police Department, Manassas, Virginia issued on April 11, 2015 for abduction, burglary, strangulation and rape. Berrios was placed under arrest without further incident.  He will be extradited to Virginia for prosecution.

Defendant Correa-Berrios is being charged as a Fugitive from Justice and was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on Thursday, April 30, 2015.
