I volunteer with the Crisis Center, and it's been great have an opportunity to really make a difference. It's not like the work is easy ... or enjoyable ... but the satisfaction of knowing I've helped someone in a difficult place always is. I highly recommend volunteering to anyone who has the strength to help someone else with their troubles.

I know nobody really likes to talk about suicide, but well, that's the point, isn't it? I was going through a crisis, and I was on the edge, and I really needed someone to talk to. I called the Crisis Center, and they put someone on the phone to counsel me, at like 4 in the morning. It really made a difference for me to feel like someone actually cared, and was open to listening to me and not judging me, and I will forever appreciate it. If I ever manage to get myself out of this hole I am in, I would love to do something like that for someone else. So thank you.
