SPCA: Amityville Woman Was Arrested For Animal Cruelty After Neglecting Her Pit Bull

The dog of Shannon King, 31, was emaciated and was covered with open sores, according to authorities.
SPCA Detectives have arrested Shannon King of Amityville, 31, for cruelty to animals.

Shannon King, 31, was charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty for failure to provide proper sustenance including food, water and veterinary care, to a 1 year old male pit bull. The dog was emaciated and was covered with open sores.
King was arraigned on December 16th, 2017. She was released on her own recognizance with the condition that she is not permitted to possess any animals. King is to appear in Amityville Justice Court on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017.
