The story about Trey Elliott, a young boy from Oklahoma who is making it his mission to pray for every officer in the Tulsa police department, is spreading across the country. The 7-year-old also told his mother that for Christmas this year, he also wants to get patches from every law enforcement agency.

The story caught the attention of Samantha Gleason, an 11-year-old from Smithtown. When the sixth grader at Accompsett Middle School contacted the Suffolk County Police Department to obtain a patch to send to Elliot, she was invited to come get the patch from Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart personally.

Commissioner Hart provided Gleason with patches and challenge coins to send to Elliott. Hart also presented Samantha with a Community Service Recognition Award for her good deed.
