SCPD are investigating the shooting death of a man in Central Islip.

Central Islip, NY - November 27, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man that occurred in Central Islip on Monday, November 26.
 
Third Precinct police officers found a man dead in the street on Suffolk Avenue, near Church Street, at approximately 12:55 a.m. It was determined that the man, Michael Evans, 54, who is homeless, had been shot.
 
Evans was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
