Long Beach, NY - November 7, 2014 - On December 7, 2014, the Long Beach Waterfront Warriors will celebrate their 6th annual Holiday for Heroes Toy Drive by welcoming service men, women and family members from Walter Reed Medical Center with a magical weekend of holiday fun!

Our Toy Drive will take place at the Pt. Lookout-Lido Fire Department on Sunday, December 7 from 2-5PM. Bring an unwrapped toy and take part in the tree lighting ceremony, get your picture taken with Santa and feast on delicious cookies and hot chocolate.  Kids will enjoy having their faces painted and designing holiday greeting cards for recovering service members.  Gifts can be dropped off now through Dec. 7 between the hours of 9am and 5pm at the PLLFD located at 102 Lido Blvd, Pt. Lookout.

For anyone wishing to fulfill specific gifts requested by children living at Walter Reed, please contact Daria D’Andrea at 516-426-3048 or daria@optonline.net.  Daria is our “wish list coordinator” – she is the keeper of the children’s wish lists and can help you with donating a specific item that will be ordered and sent directly to a child at Water Reed in time for Christmas.

On December 6, our guests will spend time in Manhattan visiting the World Trade Center and having lunch at NYFDNY’s Engine 54/Ladder 4, followed by a trip to Rockefeller Center for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.  On Sunday, the families will attend the Toy Drive.

Please welcome our heroes on December 7 in Pt. Lookout by bringing an unwrapped gift for a child!
