Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D - Great Neck) recently joined a celebration of Nassau County’s veterans at Clinton G. Martin Park. During the special get-together, which was hosted by the Town of North Hempstead, attendees celebrated the 101st birthday of World War II veteran and Mineola resident Tony Catalano.
“As Veterans Day approaches, it is especially fitting for us all to turn our focus to honoring and celebrating all who bravely served in our nation’s armed forces,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “It is always a privilege to spend time with our veterans, and I thank the Town of North Hempstead for hosting this truly enjoyable gathering.”
