Island Park, NY - October 28, 2015 - The Nassau County SPCA is offering a $5,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for a placing a 6-7 week old kitten in the bottom of a garbage can and than putting 2 bags of garbage on top of it. Today, in Island Park, while picking up garbage on Nassau Lane, sanitation workers discovered a barely alive kitten tossed in the garbage. The sanitation workers rescued the kitten and had it transported to an animal hospital were veterinarians worked to save its life.

The Nassau County SPCA is asking anyone with information about this act of animal cruelty to call the Nassau County SPCA at 516-THE-SPCA. All calls will be kept confidential!
