Suspect Busted in Connection with Over a Dozen Tire and Rim Thefts in Elmont, Cops Say

NCPD reports the arrest of Benjamin Camille of Queens, 24, for Grand Larceny which occurred on September 23, in Elmont.

Elmont, NY - September 25, 2017 - The Major Case Burglary Team along with the Fifth Squad, reports the arrest of a Queens man for Grand Larceny which occurred on September 23, 2017, at 5:45 am in Elmont.
 
According to detectives, patrol officers responded to a 911 call for a disturbance on Home Street.  Upon police arrival, the male victim, 41, was physically struggling with the subject inside a Honda Civic. The responding officer, with the assistance of the victim, was able to subdue the subject. It was determined the subject had removed and took four (4) tires and rims from the victim’s 2017 Honda Accord and placed them in the rear of his Honda Civic. Benjamin Camille, 24, was placed under arrest.
 
A thorough investigation revealed the defendant was responsible for the following larcenies of rims and tires:
 
  • On September 22, 2017 a 2017 Honda Accord parked on Rifton Street, Elmont.
  • On September 10, 2017 a 2017 Honda Accord parked on Marguerite Avenue, Elmont.
  • On September 2, 2017 a 2017 Honda Accord parked on Ely Court, Elmont.
  • On September 1, 2017 a 2016 Honda Accord parked on Hoffman Avenue, Elmont.
  • On September 1, 2017 a 2016 Honda Accord parked on Kingston Street, Elmont.
  • On August 31, 2017 a 2013 Honda Accord parked on Ludlam Avenue, Elmont.
  • On August 2, 2017 a 2016 Honda Accord parked on Fieldmere Street, Elmont.
  • On August 1, 2017 a 2017 Honda Accord parked on Fieldmere Street, Elmont.
  • On August 1, 2017 a 2015 Honda Accord parked on Fieldmere Street, Elmont.
  • On August 1, 2017 a 2017 Honda Accord parked on Fieldmere Street, Elmont.
  • On July 31, 2017 a 2014 Honda Accord parked on Baylis Avenue, Elmont.
  • On July 26, 2017 a 2017 Honda Accord parked on Renfrew Avenue, Elmont.
  • On July 7, 2017 a 2017 Honda Accord parked on Diamond Street, Elmont.
Defendant Camille is charged with Auto Stripping 1st degree, Grand Larceny 3rd degree and thirteen (13) counts of Grand Larceny 4th degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
