The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a homeless man for an incident that occurred in Merrick on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 2:50 p.m.
According to Detectives, a 14-year-old female was walking home on Merrick Road from John F. Kennedy High School when she was approached by a white male with a thin build and grey beard, walking towards her. As the victim passed the unknown male, he grabbed her arm tightly and screamed obscenities at her. The victim was able to break free and ran home.
A few hours later the victim and her parents saw the suspect walking by the CVS located at 2291 Merrick Road, Bellmore and notified Detectives. Detectives responded and placed Christopher Christopheren, 44, under arrest.
The defendant Christopher Christopheren is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Harassment 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
