The Paramount in downtown Huntington, already considered one of the hottest entertainment venues in the New York metro area, is now home to Spotlight, described as an "Experiential Art Space.” Spotlight offers visitors an exciting new way to experience art and theatre and gives artists, actors, photographers and other talented creatives an opportunity to showcase their work.

Spotlight’s opening exhibit, Inner Alchemy by The Art Alchemist (Elijah Minton), opens today, September 6. The artist Elijah Minton will live-paint a mural at the gallery beginning at 6:30 p.m. and there will be additional live painting sessions on 9/7, 9/12, 9/13 and 9/14 starting at 7 p.m. each evening. Minton is a 28-year-old painter known for his vibrant murals and his work is often compared to surrealist painters such as Salvador Dali.

According to Spotlight's website, “patrons will view, live and up close, how an artist transforms a blank wall into a complete work of art. The final mural will reveal with a powerful impact, our reality, as technology and nature battle in an evolving society.”

There will be an artist panel on September 15 at 4 p.m. and the exhibit will be on display through September 22.

The Spotlight website says that it will “add to the already robust culture of art in the Huntington community and serve as a powerful magnet for both locals and visitors. In addition to showcasing and hosting local and nationally-renowned artists, the space will display various exhibits for the public, stimulating innovation and creativity among residents. By doing this, Spotlight will offer a window into the talents and originality of professional and aspiring artists."
