Nassau County Executive Bruce A. Blakeman was joined by the Village of Valley Stream and other officials on Tuesday, August 30 to highlight the need for the MTA to revitalize local train stations.

"Years of requests for repairs to crumbling stations and broken down overpasses have gone ignored, or met with excuses as to why repairs cannot be done," Blakeman said.

Blakeman noted numerous issues on display at the Valley Stream LIRR station, including dangerous crumbling concrete, rusting metal and peeling paint, weakened overpasses with rebar now showing through, corrosive fluids dripping down on people and cars, a leaking, flooded mess of a waiting room, and more.
