Stony Brook, NY - July 23, 2018 - Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn joined the family and friends of new Eagle Scout Nolan Adelsky during his Court of Honor held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s Education and Cultural Center. For his community service project the Troop 377 member planned and organized volunteers to remove over 350 invasive Yucca and Pepperweed plants from the West Meadow Beach peninsula.

To compliment his work, Nolan also placed two signs along Trustees Road, with one highlighting the area’s rich history and the other its unique ecology, to better educate visitors on West Meadow Beach’s cultural and environmental significance.

Nolan’s recognition for becoming an Eagle Scout is not the first time he has been honored by the Suffolk County Legislature for his actions. In 2014, Legislator Hahn celebrated Nolan’s efforts to assist victims trapped in an overturned SUV following a traffic accident at the intersection of Route 347 and Nicolls Road.
