This Spring, Bay Shore got itself a new pizza joint and it's getting high marks from locals. Not an easy feat in a place that is well-known for its pizzerias. One is never more than a stone’s throw away from a good slice on Long Island. It can be argued nowadays that classic New York City pizza is really now just Long Island pizza at its best.

Classic New York Pizza Joint moved into Bay Shore back in March and already reviewers are calling it “old school NYC pizza with a great sauce.” High praise from those with a discerning pizza pallet.

If you want to see what they’re serving up, check them out on Facebook and Instagram where they are pretty active posters. Warning: the pics will make you crave a slice or one of their calzones. You can find them on the corner of the Kohl's and Hobby Lobby shopping center on Sunrise Highway.

Their menu includes a super wide variety of pizzas as well as traditional Italian restaurant dishes.

On Yelp, Lily C, from Islip, said that “it was awesome.”

“I also met the owner who was so nice,” she wrote. “He really seems very passionate about his pizza.”

Alexis F, from Brentwood, said her first time there was “amazing.”

“The service was great and the food was even better,” she said. “I got a Brooklyn slice and a white slice which I'm very particular on but I can't stress enough how good it was.”

Rob D, of Lindenhurst, addressed a concern of every pizza connoisseur: foldability of the crust.

“Delicious sauce and most of all THE CRUST,” he wrote. “This is true "New York Pizza", delicious crust that's soft but crispy enough on the bottom that you get that little crack when folding it!”
