Jamie Claudio has been appointed Director of Brand Development for the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission.

Hauppauge, NY - July 18, 2016 - The Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission (LICVB&SC) is excited to announce that Long Island native, Jamie Claudio, has been appointed Director of Brand Development.

Claudio brings a specialty in broadcast and digital communications and has experience overseeing both leisure and business initiatives on behalf of destination organizations including Tourism Toronto, Visit North Carolina, Discover Los Angeles, The Greater Louisville CVB, Visit Scotland and others. Her skill sets include destination branding, partner relations and training, event planning, multi-medium press placement, target market campaign work and attraction promotion.

“Jamie is the perfect fit for this new position at the LICVB,” said president & CEO, Kristen Jarnagin. “Her skillset, passion and energy are ideal for the fast-paced and innovative direction that we’re moving and, who better to develop, promote and protect Long Island’s brand than the daughter of one of our most iconic tourism families?”

Spearheading branding efforts, Claudio will oversee marketing and communications endeavors including public relations and strategic promotional programs in an effort to drive continued tourism and economic development growth across Long Island. Reporting to LICVB&SC president, Kristen Jarnagin, Claudio and her team will create and implement tactical, cohesive and integrated campaigns utilizing industry best practices, infused with a local perspective.

Claudio’s family has owned and operated Claudio’s Restaurant in Greenport Village on the North Fork since 1870; the current ownership extended the operation to included Claudio’s Clam Bar and Crabby Jerry’s in the 1990’s. Today, the waterfront eateries serve as a major tourism destination attracting nearly half a million visitors annually.
