Suffolk Police Report Toddler Rescued from Central Islip Koi Pond

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a child nearly drowned outside of a home in Central Islip.
 
Third Precinct officers responded to East Poplar Street in Central Islip after a 2-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a koi pond outside of a residence. The boy was transported via ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was revived.
 
The boy is expected to be transported to Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens for further treatment and is in serious condition.
