Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for driving while ability impaired by drugs after a police officer revived him when he was unconscious in his vehicle in Patchogue.

Anthony Longo, 49, of Holbrook, was arrested for DWAI after police revived him administering Narcan.

Patchogue, NY - January 17, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for driving while ability impaired by drugs after a police officer revived him when he was unconscious in his vehicle in Patchogue.

Anthony Longo was driving a 2009 Ford F150 westbound on Sunrise Highway when the vehicle left the roadway and entered a wooded area on the north side of the road between exits 52 and 53.

Highway Patrol Officer Thomas Joy witnessed the crash and observed Longo in the vehicle, unconscious. Officer Joy, who was unable to get into the vehicle because the doors were locked, broke a window, and with the assistance of a passing motorist, pulled Longo from the vehicle.

Officer Joy administrated intranasal Narcan to Longo, who regained consciousness.

Longo, 49, of Holbrook, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue.

Longo was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. He will be arraigned on a later date.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
