The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Vehicular Accident involving a bicyclist that occurred in Levittown.
According to detectives, Andrew Alati, 13, was riding his bicycle and crossing in front of 2575 Hempstead Turnpike when he was struck by a 1998 Toyota Camry operated by a 19 year old male traveling westbound. The operator of the vehicle remained at the scene and called 911.
As a result of the collision the male victim suffered multiple injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased, a short time later, by a hospital physician.
The investigation into this accident continues.
