EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING The National Weather Service in Upton has issued an Excessive Heat Watch, which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening. * HEAT INDEX VALUES...Up to 105 due to temperatures in the lower 90s, and dewpoints in the mid 70s. * TIMING...12 pm Friday through 10 pm Saturday for Excessive Heat Watch. * IMPACTS...Extreme heat can cause illness and death among at- risk population who cannot stay cool. The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure.

Unknown male who recorded video through a bathroom window of an Elmont residence.

The Fifth Squad is investigating an Unlawful Surveillance that occurred on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 9:21 pm in Elmont.
According to detectives, a female victim, 38, was notified by her tenant that an unknown male was observed recording video through her window on Harrison Street. The window the subject recorded is located in the victim’s bathroom. The subject used a cell phone to record while standing on the tenant’s covered porch. At the time of the incident, the homeowner’s sister, 24, and two (2) female juveniles ages 15 and 6 were in the bathroom. The subject fled the scene on foot.
The subject is described as a male white, in his 20’s. He was wearing camouflage short pants, a light colored shirt and dark sneakers.
