Moriches, NY - June 15, 2015 - The William Floyd Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society recently held its Annual Induction Ceremony and dedicated it in the memory of fallen New York Police Department (NYPD) Officer Brian Moore, who was killed in the line of duty this past May. WFMS National Junior Honor Society advisor Linda Czarnomski contacted the NYPD to tell them about the plans, and as a result they sent two police officers with NYPD hats for all of the National Junior Honor Society students.

In preparation for the event, Stephanie Taisler’s art classes created a beautiful portrait of Officer Moore adorned with encouraging words, which was presented as a gift to the NYPD officers in attendance. Additionally, to coincide with the theme of the evening and for their dedication to students and the community, the Society honorably inducted Suffolk County Police Department officers George Lynagh and Nancy Ward, as well as William Floyd Senior Security Guard Richard Palma.
