Two Con Artists Run Scam on Elderly Man in Hewlett, Rip Him Off for $2,500, Cops Say

The Fourth Squad reports on a Grand Larceny that occurred on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 1:45 PM in Hewlett.
 
According to Detectives, a 62-year-old male victim withdrew $2,500 USC from a TD Bank located at 1 Harris Avenue and entered his car. An unknown male subject knocked on the car window and informed him that he dropped money in the parking lot. The male victim exited his car when a second unknown subject entered his car and took the $2,500 USC he had just withdrawn from the bank. Both subjects fled on foot in an unknown direction. The investigation is ongoing.
 
The first subject is described as a Hispanic male, 5’6’’ tall, thin build, last seen wearing a white button-down shirt with a straw hat.
