Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) is partnering with the Nassau County Police Department Second Precinct to help residents discard their unwanted pharmaceuticals at the Syosset Public Library on 225 South Oyster Bay Road during a “Shed-The-Meds” event on Tuesday, May 16.

From 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, residents will have the opportunity to securely dispose of unwanted prescription and/or expired medication sharps, and other pharmaceutical waste.

“By giving residents a convenient opportunity to securely dispose of their unwanted medication, Shed the Meds events make it easy for all of us to protect the environment and prevent prescription drug abuse and misuse,” Legislator Drucker said. “I encourage everyone to take a look at their medicine cabinets as you do your spring cleaning and utilize this important service.”
