Westbury, NY - July 9, 2018 - Homicide Squad detectives report the details of a fatal auto accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 9:55 pm in Westbury.
According to detectives, Sham Lal, 66, of Westbury, while attempting to cross Old Country Road near the intersection of S. Grand Street, was struck by an eastbound 2006 Mercedes being driven by a 58 year old male who remained at the scene and called 911. As a result of the collision Lal suffered multiple trauma injuries, was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later by a staff physician.
