(Westbury, NY) According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, LGBTQ+ adults are more than twice as likely as heterosexual adults to experience a mental health condition. This community is just one of the many segments of the Long Island population that Hicksville-based nonprofit organization CN Guidance & Counseling Services is helping, amid the nationwide mental health crisis. The organization will hold a gala to raise money for their critical mental health treatment, counseling and support programs on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Westbury Manor in Westbury, New York. CN Guidance’s “Heroes of Hope” Mark Seiden, Dr. Edmond Hakimi and Brooke and Hilary Eden Hoover will be honored.

Expected to garner more than 250 guests, country singer Brooke Eden Hoover will share her mental health struggles and successes. Her “Sunroof” song helped introduce the world to her longtime girlfriend and now wife, Hilary Eden Hoover.

Annually, CN Guidance & Counseling Services provides treatment to more than 25,000 Long Islanders, who live with mental health and substance use disorders.
