Today, Rep. Nick LaLota (R-Suffolk County) announced additional federal funding in the form of research grants for Stony Brook University. Through these grants, Stony Brook will receive an additional $1,128,094 in federal funding, bringing the total to $17,608,679 since January 2023.

The following projects and programs will receive funding through these grants:

  • $598,224 for CAREER: Scalable and Flexible Indexing of Compressed Sequences
  • $299,590 for EAGER: IMPRESS-U
  • $230,280 for Collaborative Research: Uncovering the Adaptive Origins of Fossil Apes Through the Application of a Transdisciplinary Approach
