Southold Town Police officials report that an elderly Mattituck pilot has survived the crash of a single engine Cessna plane that he was flying on Monday, March 27, at Mattituck Airport.
 
Bernard Stepnoski of Mattituck, 82, crashed the plane at Mattituck Airport at approximately 3:30 p.m. Emergency crews discovered the plane just off the runway with damage to its front end.
 
Stepnoski - the plane's only occupant - was not injured in the crash, officials say.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
