The Milleridge Inn, 585 North Broadway in Jericho, wants to put patrons’ minds at ease during the Coronavirus outbreak, by accommodating diners with 11 private dining rooms, regardless of the size of their parties. The restaurant has also implemented new sanitizing and cleaning procedures and is tightening up current ones.
“The Milleridge Inn has 11 private dining rooms where diners can feel more isolated while dining out if they are uncomfortable being close to other patrons,” said proprietor Butch Yamali. “We are attempting to stay ahead of the fears by increasing the frequency of wipe-downs and we’ve also stepped-up the basic everyday cleaning of the facility. We are following the recommendations of the National Restaurant Association that recommends using fresh cleaning cloths, and we are following the Environmental Protection Agency’s new list of disinfectants that are effective against the coronavirus. In addition, the entire staff is strictly following all of the recommended safety precautions which include washing their hands thoroughly with soap and water, using hand sanitizer, and of course not coming to work if they feel at all ill.”
The Milleridge Inn has been featuring classic American cuisine, coupled with special seasonal offerings for over 80 years. The main part of the Milleridge Inn building was built back in the 1670s and has long been a part of the island’s fascinating history
According to experts, one cannot come into contact with the virus through food. National Restaurant Association is telling restaurants to pay particular attention to wiping things down, such as hard surfaces, menus, utensils, salt shakers, etc.
“The health and well-being of our loyal Milleridge Inn patrons and the community is my highest priority,” said Yamali.
