Chef Filomena Lombardi was born on a farm in Italy. Her parents would prepare food grown right on the farm, which fueled her passion for farm-to-table living. In February, Lombardi brought her food sensibilities to Long Island, opening Farm to Table Catering by Filomena, a full-servicing catering company that is now also a cafe in Stony Brook.

 

The cafe menu has plenty of healthy, organic options including Filomena's A.K.T., avocado, grilled kale, and tomato with veganaise; Waldorf handheld, chicken or turkey, cranberries, walnuts, apples, veganaise, sea salt and pepper; greek and Caesar salad; an ddaily seasonal soups.

 

Farm to Table Catering by Filomena’s cafe also has a large selection of quinoa bowls and avocado toasts including the Mediterranean, which is black olive spread, avocado, feta, cherry tomato, and sunflower seeds, and the Strawberry Field, made of mashed avocado, sliced strawberries, goat cheese, slivered almonds, with a balsamic glaze.
