History: An Iceberg on the Great South Bay in Patchogue

No, this is not the Antarctic. Believe it or not, it’s Long Island.

 

Taken on March 21, 1907, nine men went and climbed to the top of what is reportedly a 28-foot tall iceberg. The berg broke the shore of the Great South Bay in Patchogue.
