14 Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Setauket Motor Vehicle Crash, Police Report

The bicyclist, Qamat Shah, 14, of Setauket, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a bicyclist in Setauket on Thursday, March 2.
 
David Zerella was driving a 2015 Dodge Charger westbound on Route 347 at Wireless Road when his vehicle struck a bicyclist who was crossing Route 347 at approximately 6:30 p.m.
 
The bicyclist, Qamat Shah, 14, of Setauket, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Zerella, 36, of Port Jefferson, and his female passenger were not injured.
 
The Dodge was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
