Four Arrests Made in Connection with Assault, Robbery of Elmont Man, According to Authorities

Elmont, NY - January 30, 2018 - Fifth Squad detectives report the arrest of four individauls for an incident that occurred on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 6:00 pm in Elmont.
 
According to detectives, Jasmine English, 25, of Elmont, Douglas Dante, 28, of Elmont, Lawrence Sutton, 28, of Freeport and Kevin Calender, a homeless person from Westbury, while in a Seville Street residence, assaulted and removed money as well as a cell phone from a 49 year old victim’s pockets.
 
A subsequent investigation revealed that the victim, who called 911 from a local laundromat after the incident occurred, advised responding officers that the defendants involved were known to him. The victim, who sustained bruising and minor lacerations, refused medical treatment.
 
Detectives were able to locate all the subjects involved and placed them under arrest without further incident.
 
All four defendants were charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Robbery 2nd Degree. Defendant Calender was additionally charged with Obstruction of Breathing and Assault 3rd Degree. They were all arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on Monday, January 29, 2018.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
