Suffolk County Legislator Robert Trotta Appointed to Four Legislative Committees

Smithtown, NY - January 22, 2014 - Suffolk County Legislator Robert Trotta was appointed by the Suffolk County Legislature’s Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory to serve on the Education & Information Technology, Budget & Finance, Human Services and the Health Committees. 
 
The Education and Information Technology Committee has jurisdiction over the Community College and its budget and shall monitor issues affecting or pertaining to public and private schools. It also has jurisdiction over the Department of Information Technology and its operations and services. 
 
The Budget and Finance Committee reviews legislation to amend the Suffolk County operating budget during a fiscal year and resolutions to transfer and/or release funds from any contingency account. 
 
The Human Services Committee has responsibility over matters pertaining to the County Department of Social Services, the Office for Women and the Office for People with Disabilities. 
 
The Health Committee has jurisdiction over all matters pertaining to the County Department of Health Services and programs dealing with the health and well-being of the residents of Suffolk. 
 
Legislator Robert Trotta represents the 13th Legislative District, which includes Smithtown, Fort Salonga, Kings Park, San Remo, Nissequogue, Head of the Harbor, and St. James, as well as portions of Commack and East Northport.
