COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 4 PM EST MONDAY ...COASTAL FLOODING EXPECTED TONIGHT INTO MONDAY... The National Weather Service in New York NY has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect from noon to 4 PM EST Monday. The Coastal Flood Watch is no longer in effect. * LOCATIONS...Southwestern Suffolk. * TIMING...From noon to 4 PM EST Monday. * COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. * SHORELINE IMPACTS...The combination of elevated water levels and high surf along the ocean beachfront should also result in moderate beach erosion and localized splashovers around the times of high tide.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who stole video games and a DVD from a Farmingville store last month.

Farmingville, NY - January 14th, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who stole video games and a DVD from a Farmingville store last month.

A man exited K-Mart, located at 2280 North Ocean Ave., with three Xbox 360 games and a DVD that he did not pay for and when he was approached outside the store by an employee, the man threw the items at the employee and fled the parking lot in a blue sedan on December 19 at approximately 5:20 p.m.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
