Exchange your Christmas tree for a free bag of mulch at the Town of Hempstead Mulchfest. The trade-in takes place at Baldwin Park on Saturday, January 7 and Sunday, January 8 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin invites residents to come down to the event and “chip in” to help the environment by safely disposing of their Christmas trees. Got a bunch of cardboard boxes? Bring those for recycling, too. Baldwin Park is located at 3232 Grand Avenue in Baldwin. The event is free and open to all Town of Hempstead residents.
If you can’t make Mulchfest, residents can dispose of Christmas trees at Baldwin Park’s drop-off area from Tuesday, January 3 through Friday, January 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
