The Homicide Squad is investigating a Serious Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 3:26 pm in West Hempstead.
According to Detectives, a female pedestrian, 83, was walking eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike crossing Nassau Boulevard when she was struck by a 2016 Dodge Ram being operated by a 36-year-old male making a left hand turn onto Nassau Boulevard.
As a result of the collision, the female pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital where she is currently listed in serious condition.
The driver remained at scene. No further injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
