As many portions of Long Island go through recovery from Hurricane Sandy, life continues on Long Island. We highlight entertainment opportunities going into the weekend as gathering together with friends and family for fun can help make coping with situations easier. There is a variety of musical performances, comedy shows, bowling event that goes to a good cause, a Corvette show and much more! As many places have been affected by the storm, it is advised to call venues in advance to confirm schedules or for any last minute changes. Check out the details below!

 
 
FRIDAY – NOVEMBER 2, 2012
 
Who: “TRIBUTE” Performs to “YES” Sounds At Port Washington Public Library
Info: This show with the band “TRIBUTE” will pay homage to the prog-rock innovators “YES.” It’s the chance to experience the musical catalogue of “YES” as “TRIBUTE” recreates its original sounds with mystical lyrics, complex musical textures and amazing lead vocals.
Cost: Free Event

Who: Cabaret & Wine At Borghese Vineyard
Info: Sit back and enjoy wine and cabaret singing with Marguerite Volonts. Volonts sings, plays the piano, guitar and viola. She brings her experience from folk singing and big band performances. You may also hear some recreations of old Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Carole King. Glasses of wine and bottles are available for purchase.

Who: Singles Comedy Night Out At Brokerage Comedy Club
Info: Actor and comedian Angelo Tsaroucha and other great comedians will perform for this speed dating event. Prior to the show there will be open mingle introductions available with hor d’oerves. Then, enjoy laughs together as the comedians perform. There will tables arranged by age groups of 23-34, 35-46, 44-56 and 57-69.

Info: The Metropolitan Club offers a prime, upscale venue, making it perfect for a night of mingling, dancing and partying. Who: Vette Fest Car Show
Info: It’s your chance to see all Corvette makes and models from various years. The event is sponsored by Arnodl Buick Corvette. There will be live music by Peter Mazzeo & The Hit Squad. There will also be meet and greet with Kelly & Ali – the “Churchill Girls,” trophies awarded to different class Corvettes, food, giveaways, fun and more.
