This is the weekend before Halloween, so you can bet there’s going to be plenty of entertainment with that in mind, from a boat burning event, bowling in costume to stage performances, like Bat Boy The Musical. FRIDAY – OCTOBER 24, 2014
Who: Halloween Boat Burning At Long Island Maritime Museum
Info: A boat that’s been deemed unsafe to sail is set ablaze in sacrifice while thousands watch from the shore enjoying an assortment of festivities, including raffles, snacks, apple cider, and musical entertainment. The rain date is October 25th.
Cost: $5; Free For Children 5 and Under

Who: Harvest Square Dance At St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
Info: This event features Pat Cannon and the Foot and Fiddle dancers with live music by fiddler Kenny Kosek, guitarist Joe Selly and bassist Matthew Schneider. Come down to take part in the autumn themed square dance open to all ages and abilities. Seasonal food and a special Halloween raffle will also be available.
Cost: $10 Admission; $5 For Students and Seniors

Who: Bat Boy – The Musical At Hofstra University
Info: This off-Broadway musical hit is about a boy who is half bat/half boy. He is taken in by a local family when he is found in a cave, but not everything is easy for the bat boy. This performance offers a story of prejudice, forbidden love, secrets and the mysterious origins of Bat Boy.
Cost: $15; $12 For Seniors (Over 65) or Matriculated Non-Hofstra Student with ID

Who: Rock Hall Country Fair At Rock Hall Museum
Info: This event features colonial historians and wood-turners, spinners, weavers, pony rides, a pumpkin patch, antique cards, farm animals, crafts and more.

Who: New York Islanders Vs. Dallas Stars At Nassau Coliseum
Info: Come watch an exciting game of hockey between the New York Islanders and the Dallas Stars!

Who: 12th Annual LI Comedy And Music Fest At NYCB Theatre At Westbury
Info: Long Island’s biggest names in entertainment are coming to one stage. The night is kicked off with side-splitting comedy by Peter Bales, Chris Monty and Vic Dibitetto. A brief intermission will follow and then Peter Mazzeo & The Hit Squad performs a Bee Gees tribute concert.

Who: 5th Annual Chowder Crawl At Port Jefferson Village Center

Who: Mostly Moptop In The #9 Lennon Birthday Special At Dix Hills Performing Arts Center
Info: To celebrate what would have been John Lennon’s 74th birthday, Mostly Moptop will be out to perform “The #9 Lennon Birthday Special.” The show features songs by Lennon and the Beatles, including “A Hard Day’s Night,” “In My Life,” “Revolution,” “Imagine,” and more.
