Long Islandrs recently had a front seat to history high in the sky - and  will get another chance to do the same thing soon.

After taking 50 passengers on a flight to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the American Airpower Museum’s Douglas C-47 Troop Transporter is gearing up for another flight to commemorate the anniversary.

The museum said seats for its Living History Flight Experience filled up on September 14, prompting it to  schedule additional flights October 19 "to accommodate public demand for this popular program.”

Seats that cost $350 will be allocated on a first come first served basis to those who call (516) 531-3950 or visit the Museum’s gift shop admissions desk.

“Our Living History Flight Experience is a one-of-a-kind immersive educational program, where re-enactors take you up in an original WWII C-47 to get a sense of what our 101st and 82nd Airborne Division Paratroopers felt on their incredible 1,200-plane D-Day assault,” according to the museum.

The 1.5-hour-event cmoplete with a 25-minute flight includes a mission briefing, donning authentic military field jackets, helmets and gear and a flight including a chance see and hear the crew operate its C-47 with paratroopers getting ready for battle.

“You actually form up and hook your parachute to a static line,” according to the museum, which is planning up to five flights on Oct. 19, starting at 10:30 a.m.

The cost of a ticket supports the group’s mission to honor veterans and U.S. aviation history by preserving the aircraft and their legacy for future generations.
