BLACK ICE POSSIBLE ON AREA ROADWAYS THIS MORNING Wet grounds from the recent rainfall and fog combined with temperatures around freezing, will pose the potential for patchy black ice on area roadways this morning. Secondary roads, walkways, and elevated surfaces such as ramps and bridges are most susceptible. Motorists need to be extremely alert while traveling this morning. Temperatures will rise above freezing by around 8 am.

Attorneys Leo K. Barnes Jr. and Matthew J. Barnes, founding members of the boutique commercial litigation law firm Barnes & Barnes, P.C. in Melville, New York, have been named to the 2011 Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for the New York metropolitan area.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of professional achievement as determined by a multi-phased selection process. Rising Stars names the state's top up-and-coming attorneys. Leo was named a Rising Star in Business Litigation and Matthew was named a Rising Star in Construction Litigation. No more than 2.5% of the attorneys in New York State are named to the Rising Stars list.

Leo focuses on breach of contract, commercial tort, unfair competition and business fraud claims, and represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including RICO claims, sophisticated commercial fraud, claims premised upon federal and state statutes, mortgage fraud, the Martin Act and multi-district litigation.
