Roger Kahn, owner of Champion Office Suites in Garden City and member of the Westchester-based Badger Swim Team, has returned from the U.S. Masters National Swimming Championships retaining his ranking in the top 5 swimmers in the nation in the 55 to 59 year-old age category. The competition was held at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. Champion Office Suites is Long Island's premier provider of virtual office and professional business services

Roger is a lifelong swimmer who has been competing since he was 12 years old. He began his swimming career at Hewlett High School where he was recognized for his hard work, precision and athletic skill. He went on to swim in college and never got out of the pool. He has set records throughout his career as he came up through the ranks. A competitive spirit, each year Roger strived to improve upon his personal best and rank among the best in the country and the world. Last year Roger set personal records at the U.S. Masters National Swimming Championships held in Puerto Rico.

"Swimming and athletics have always had a major positive influence on my life. Swimming has taught me discipline, commitment and work ethic, which are all lessons that have benefited me in my life and business," said Roger

This year Roger competed in two events over four days against 690 competitors from around the country and world. He placed 6th in the Men's 50m Freestyle with a time of 27.97 sec and 5th in the Men's 50m Butterfly with a time of 30.08 sec. His performance has placed him among the top swimmers in the country in the 55-59 year-old age category. If these times hold, Roger will be ranked in the top 10 in the world in his age group when the world rankings are released in the spring of 2012.

"Participating in the U.S. Masters National Swimming Championships is an amazing experience. You are surrounded by athletic greatness and inspired to push yourself to your limits. There is a great camaraderie between competitors as we are all encouraging each other to do our personal best. I have competed in about a dozen of these national events over the years and the preparation, training and execution have had a significant impact on my life both inside and outside of the pool," added Roger.
