Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today announced that the 2023 Suffolk County Real Property Auction will be held virtually on ThursdayOctober 12, 2023, beginning at 9:30 AM.

The Suffolk County Property Auction helps relieve the tax burden for County taxpayers and provides an unparalleled opportunity for individuals to become property owners in Suffolk County at a reasonable cost. This year’s virtual format will allow for greater participation, as those looking to purchase property do not need to be present in Suffolk County. In prior years, individuals looking to purchase property would have had to attend the in-person, 2-day live auction. Additionally, the virtual format will alleviate staff time and resources, allowing County employees to prioritize their normal job functions and duties.

“This year’s virtual innovative approach reflects the county's commitment to embracing modern technology and creating enhanced opportunities for its residents and taxpayers,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. “With the virtual property auction, Suffolk County is taking a significant step forward in advancing efficiency and accessibility.”

Suffolk County selected the vendor Realauction.com, LLC to host the virtual auction. Realauction.com, LLC was selected in October 2020, and there is no cost to the County. A $300 auction fee is to be paid by the winning bidder.

Registration is open until Tuesday, October 3rd. To register, please click here.

The auction website hosts training webinars and provides information on how to navigate the online public auction. Starting today, all properties will be viewable online using GIS access on both the Suffolk County Auction website and on Suffolk County’s website. Additionally, telephone help desk services are available both through the auction vendor RealAuction.com and through the Suffolk County 311 call center.
