At a mere 1 and a half years old, Blu Chip Marketing has had a marked influence on their community. Owner Karin Caro took a leap of faith by hiring a team of recent college graduates. Their knowledge of the latest developments and technologies has been an invaluable asset to the company and can serve as a learning tool for other businesses; skill with the newest tools and advancements can sometimes trump lengthy experience. Other factors have been paramount to their success as well. Caro is highly selective with whom she brings on board. Personality traits are a primary factor in her decisions; potential employees must be happy, optimistic and energetic to be considered. This has made for quite the ambitious crew, as two of the employees approached Caro asking to develop new divisions, one for charity and one for fashion. And so it was. Charitablu and Fashionablu emerged, and along with them came blood drives, fashion shows, non-profit clients, and makeovers. They host Think Tanks to encourage innovation and they planned the first legal same sex marriage in New York to celebrate the historic development. Times are certainly changing and perhaps our younger population has a lesson or two to pass along.
