The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Friday, July
14, 2023 at 9:45 pm in Hicksville.
According to Detectives, police responded to a fire at the Broadway Mall located
at 358 N. Broadway. Upon arrival, officers were informed that smoke was coming from the
hallway behind the concession stands in the food court. All mall patrons were evacuated safely.
Officers attempted to extinguish the fire before the Hicksville and Syosset Fire Departments
arrived. Nassau County Fire Marshal Roe responded to the scene. No injuries were
reported.
During the investigation, Detectives observed through surveillance video, (4)
four male teens exiting the location of the fire, proceeding down the escalator and
exiting the mall in an unknown direction. No further description is available at this
time. The investigation is ongoing.
