Should wireless technology be embraced in educational institutions? In my opinion, it is not even a choice.

Wireless technologies have improved dramtically over the past few years. In addition, the cost of wireless equipment has become much more reasonable.

Students, teachers, administrators, parents and community members may all be able to benefit from this technology.

Teachers and students will have the convenience of antime, anywhere learning. This will mean less dependence on computer labs. Instead, the technology will be accessible wherever it is needed most.

Administrators will be able to access critical data about students and staff, from anywhere in their facility. In am emergency situation this could prove to be critical.

Parents and community members will benefit from the availabilty of resources that a school will be able to provide for them.

Wireless technology is more than just the latest "rage." It will not however completely replace the need for wired solutions anytime in the near future.

It will be the effective integration and coexistence of these technologies that will let a school stand out from the crowd.
