Looking for fun things to do on Long Island with the kids all the while staying within the parameters of your budget? How about bringing the little ones to a free kid’s event on Long Island! It doesn’t get much more frugal than that!

This Winter there are plenty of free events going on at local libraries, town halls, and other venues, just for kids! Check out these activities that won’t burn a hole in your pocket!

February Events

Weekend Open Art Studio for Kids at Guild Hall

All materials are supplied open hours encouraging young artists to work independently, or with an adult, on a variety of interactive arts and crafts projects.

Painting with Words, Collaging with Color at Westbury Library

Tuesday, February 17th from 2 PM - 4 PM

Paint, draw and collage your own work of art to take home, as well as work on a collaborative piece that will be exhibited at the Children's Museum.

Train-Tastic Tuesday at Town Hall West

Tuesday, February 17th Grades K-2: 10 AM - 12:30 PM, Grades 3-6: 1 PM -3:30 PM

Kids will enjoy a day all about trains as they watch a themed movie and take part in a train safety workshop.

This free event that celebrates women in sports is open to all girls ages 7-12 followed by Old Westbury's women’s basketball Play 4Kay senior game vs. Purchase.
