Suffolk County Police today arrested a building superintendent that burglarized numerous apartments within the 55 and older community complex he worked at.

East Moriches, NY - December 5, 2014 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a building superintendent that burglarized numerous apartments within the 55 and older community complex he worked at.
 
John Alaia, 37, accessed tenant apartments at the Walden Pond complex, located at Walden Court in East Moriches and stole items from residents.  The burglaries took place when tenants were not home.

Alaia, who also lives in the complex, was charged with four counts of Burglary 2nd Degree.

Detectives encourage residents of the complex to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752 if they have any missing items, especially jewelry. The investigation is continuing.

Alaia will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on December 5.
